Best Youth Hostels in Hanoi, Vietnam: Cheap Accommodation and Trendy Facilities, Backpackers and Budget Travelers Love Them

Although Hanoi in Vietnam is already a cheap place to stay, if you’re a budget traveler or backpacker getting the cheapest, yet cleanest and safest, accommodation possible is a must. Luckily, Hanoi has some superb hostels that are cheap, in wonderful locations, offer trendy facilities and typical Vietnamese hospitality, and these Hanoi hostels are three of the best.

Hanoi Backpackers’ Hostel – Opened six years ago by two Australian expats who’d seen first-hand some of the dismal hostels in Hanoi, Hanoi Backpackers’ Hostel soon became a winner. Offering international-level hostel accommodation and friendly service, any backpacker or budget traveler will love staying here.

At Hanoi Backpackers’ Hostel, you’ll find a choice of mixed dorm rooms, female dorms, double rooms and triples. Every room has air conditioning, is clean and comfortable and has an en suite bathroom. Dorm beds have a large locker, a shelf and a nightlight, as well as include sheets and blankets, or duvets in the winter. Private rooms have cable TV, Wi-Fi and air conditioning.

At Hanoi Backpackers’ Hostel, you cannot possibly beat the price – anywhere. Beds in a dorm are only $6 a night and even triple suites that will sleep a family are a steal at $36. Room rates also include a continental breakfast with coffee – imagine a clean and safe bed for the night and breakfast for 6 bucks!

Ha Noi Atlantic Hostel – In a superb location in Hanoi the Ha Noi Atlantic Hostel is situated right in the middle of the city’s Old Quarter, surrounded by restaurants, cafes and shopping.

Ha Noi Atlantic Hostel is a VIP hostel and one of Hanoi’s best. It offers single, deluxe and superior rooms at cheap prices. Originally the Ha Noi Atlantic Hostel, they’ve recently changed their name to the Ha Noi Atlantic Hotel, after a major renovation, but its still owned by the same people and still offers hostel accommodation. Single rooms are currently available for $18 a night, or a double for $27.

Rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, TV with cable, air conditioning, refrigerator and mini bar. Many have a balcony.

At Ha Noi Atlantic Hostel, you’ll also enjoy the restaurant and coffee house, where you can order Vietnamese or international dishes at reasonable prices. The hostel is also offering free pick up at the Hanoi airport if you book for three nights or more in advance.

Little Hanoi Hostel Le Thai To – Another of Hanoi’s hostels that gets rave reviews from guests is the Little Hanoi Hostel Le Thai To. Located in the Old Quarter, and one minute from the popular Hoan Kiem Lake, this popular hostel offers superb accommodation and friendly service.

Each of the hostel’s single, double and twin rooms has traditional wooden Vietnamese furniture (they look like four poster beds – so cute), air conditioning, cable TV and an en suite bath. Dorm rooms have bunks or beds for four people, and are clean and comfortable.

Room rate includes free coffee all day long and, of course, a complimentary breakfast. Rates begin at $8 for a bed in a triple room, up to $28 for a family room that will sleep four.

The hotel has Wi-Fi internet, laundry room, a restaurant and bar, a common room, a guest kitchen and bike parking. They’re also running a special for free pick up at the airport, if you stay at least two nights (this doesn’t apply to people who book a bed in a dorm).
