JW Marriott Hotel, Sukhumvit in Bangkok, Thailand

A wonderful hotel in a good location, the JW Marriott is a very pretty 5- star hotel conveniently located near the BTS sky train station in downtown Bangkok. It’s also a great place for a long stay or just an overnight trip, as I found out a few weeks ago.

The hotel itself is beautiful. It has an impressive foyer and reception area, with a gorgeous restaurant and café. The hotel staff from the doorman to the reception staff and the waitresses and maids are lovely; very helpful, efficient and friendly.

JW Marriott’s guest rooms are gorgeous. The en suite bathroom is large with both bath and a separate shower, along with fluffy robes, bathroom slippers and designer toiletries.

Guest rooms also include a superbly comfortable beds and luxurious bedding. I especially enjoyed the full cable TV selection with most cable channels you would want (many hotels in Bangkok advertise cable TV but then offer very basic cable with no CNN, HBO etc. The Marriott has everything). My room also had a nice view out over Bangkok.

For light meals, The Bangkok Baking Company is downstairs at the Marriott, with both an indoor cafe and a cool outdoor patio, and they sell wonderful baked goods. It’s a great place to stop by for breakfast, even if you’re not staying at the hotel. Or, if you prefer to eat out, no worries as the Marriott is surrounded by restaurants, cafes and just a sky train stop away from so many more.

All in all, I really loved the JW Marriott in Bangkok and would recommend it as an extremely comfortable, friendly and luxurious place to stay.
