The maintenance man from my apartment building drove us from the Elephant Building on Pahonyothin, near Major Ratchayothin, to Saphan Kwai today, to go shopping at Big C supermarket.
The flood waters were unbelievable, up more than 25 centimeters since I walked on the same road only three days ago. In some spots, it was so bad we weren’t sure the truck would make it and, once we got back, our lovely driver said, “Nope, won’t be doing that tomorrow”. I just heard even the buses have now stopped traveling this route. We’re left now with just army trucks and boats.
And yes, we’re driving fast because, if you don’t, the water gets in the engine even faster and the truck stops. We saw several people pushing their’s today.
