It stars Sosuke Ikematsu, Minami Hamabe, Tasuku Emoto, Nanase Nishino, and Shinya Tsukamoto, and tells the story of Takeshi Hongo (played by Sousuke Ikematsu), a college student who is abducted by a criminal organization and turned into a cyborg.
The film, which is the third reboot of the series, follows Takeshi and his female accomplice, Ruriko Midorikawa (Minami Hamabe) as they attempt to take down the organization so he can get revenge.
Shin Kamen Rider premiered in Japan back in mid-March and has since grossed over $15 million. It is also due to get an international release outside Asia at the end of May.
Along with direction by Anno, who also produced the movie, Isao Tsuge (costume supervisor on Shin Godzilla) is costume designer while Taku Iwasaki (Bungo Stray Dogs) composed the soundtrack.
