A great way to improve your Thai or to even begin to learn Thai is to use some of the best learning Thai language websites out there.

If you are trying to improve your Thai language skills, or want to start learning Thai for the first time, you cannot go wrong with these excellent websites. They are free, they are accessible 24 hours a day and the phenomenal Thai audio files will have you speaking like a native in no time.

Thai Language – An excellent website for learning Thai online, Thai Language has some interesting lessons, a huge Thai online dictionary, over 15,000 audio files and a forum, where you can talk to other people also struggling with the Thai language.

They have even uploaded a ton of fun photos. Suitable for Thai language learners from absolute beginners to more advanced, it also has no annoying ads to click on, so your Thai learning experience is just that – learning.

Thai Pod 101 — While much of Thai Pod 101 is monthly subscription based via their website, the company running the Thai video and podcast classes has an enormous number of free videos available to watch on YouTube.

These videos cover everything from learning Thai consonants, vowels and writing to a 3-hour video on 1,300 words every Thai beginner must know. (Watch below).

While these are YouTube videos, we are still including them in our best online sites to learn Thai list as their instructors are excellent and there is enough content to keep you happy, and able to learn Thai for free, for months.

Everyday Thai – When I have taught English in Thailand, one thing I have learned is that listening to music can have a huge impact on learning a language quickly. The same goes for Thai.

Listening to Thai music can help with vocabulary and grammar as it tends to stick in your brain easier and, at the same time, it is a fun way to learn.

Everyday Thai has clickable links to some of the best Thai pop music out there, all free.  They also offer several other free Thai courses in a variety of levels you may want to browse.

Live Lingua — An online site founded by a Peace Corps and a teacher, Live Lingua offers free Thai classes in a number of languages, including Thai.

The lessons they offer are based on Peace Corps material but, as most Peace Corps volunteers end up fluent in the language of the region they work in, you certainly cannot fault that.

Live Lingua offers 12 free Thai courses, 12 free ebooks and 263 free audio files. If you like how you are learning, you can also pay to study with an instructor via Skype.

Women Learn Thai – A website absolutely loaded with information about Thai language is Women Learn Thai. Actually, Women Learn Thai isn’t just for women, men are welcome too.

It is one of the prettiest Thai language websites as it is gorgeously designed. It is also run by a western woman who is an expat living in Thailand, which means there is a lot of information on there pertinent for westerners learning Thai, as well as westerners living in Thailand.

There are hundreds of websites online for people to learn Thai, but these five are some of the best, not only because they provide boatloads of information, but they are completely free too!
