Walking around Chatuchak Weekend Market on Sunday, I discovered a shop called “Bang, Bang“.
A tiny t shirt and accessory shop at Chatuchak that is owned by a young Thai woman called Nan, its main focus is brightly colored t shirts with appliqued fabric prints of famous people on the front.
Completely modern, cool and, in its way, quite chic, on closer inspection I also found displays of small handmade t shirt fabric bags with prints of famous folks like Gandhi, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Johnny Depp on the front.
The same people, and many others, also appear on keychains, magnets, post cards, handbags and badges.
Of course, I couldn’t resist buying a small zippered fabric bag, which I’m going to use to carry my passport in when I travel, and I’ll likely be back next week for a t shirt and a matching key ring.
You can find “Bang Bang” – Designed by Nan, at Chatuchak Weekend Market, Section 20, Soi 2. (They shop is open Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 am to around 6pm).
Or you can email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
She also has a Facebook page that’s regularly updated with t shirts, mugs, pins, watches, bags and more — all available at the Terminal 21 Bang Bang shop.
