For all those teachers who are still waiting to return to school after Bangkok’s floods, the news today isn’t good. The Bangkok Metropolitan Association (BMA) has declared yet another delay for school reopenings, this time to December 6th, or possibly even later. The way it’s going, some Bangkok schools are going to be lucky to open this semester at all.

Plus, for those teachers and students who work at or go to Bangkok schools still in heavily flooded areas, December 13th is now the tentative reopening date. That covers schools in districts like Rangsit, Sae Mai, Thonburi, Chang Wattana and the like.

For Bangkok teachers it looks like, if you’ve got the money, now is a good time to take a holiday in Phuket, Pattaya, Chiang Mai or Koh Samui. After all, you can guarantee, once you get back to school all the holidays you should have for the next two semesters will just be sucked up in making up lost classes.

For Bangkok students, relax. You’ve another couple of weeks before school starts. Might as well make the most of it.
