The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has announced all 91 still-closed Bangkok schools will re-open tomorrow after floods have receded. The schools are in Khlong Sam Wa, Min Buri, Sai Mai, Bang Khae, Bang Bon, Thaweewattana, Laksi, Bang Khen, Don Mueang and Nong Khaem.
Both teachers and students will return to school but hours for both will be much longer. Some schools are adding an extra 90 minutes of classes every day to make up for all the classes lost to floods, or/and adding Saturday and Sunday classes to make up.
If your school has not called you about returning to school tomorrow, you should go anyway. Thai schools have a terrible reputation for informing their foreign teachers as to what’s going on, as evidenced by an American friend last week who went back to school on the day she was told, only to be informed the school would be closed another week. They just hadn’t bothered to call her to tell her.
