When you first arrive in Thailand, you’ll notice how incredibly colorful everything is, and that even includes the public telephones. Thais love bright colors, so you’ll see them everywhere — and, even though the colors used often clash, they still look simply amazing.
These Thai public telephones were taken at Hua Lamphong train station by Mark Fischer. You’d never think something so garish in reds, greens, oranges and yellows would look so amazing, but they do, don’t they?
(By the way, public telephones in Thailand can be very frustrating to use. But, don’t hesitate to ask a Thai to help you if you can’t figure them out. I’ve been here for 10 years, and I sometimes still have to).
Meanwhile, we’ve added this to our Featured Photos section, as these Thai public phones are simply gorgeous. Mark has it published on Flickr, under a Creative Commons License.
