‘Trip Advisor Bangkok‘ is one of the most popular searches on the internet for search terms for Bangkok, as people use it to try to find believable and reliable reviews and information about hotels, restaurants and place to visit in Thailand’s capitla city. But should it be? Absolutely not. In fact, if you’re expecting to find accurate information from ‘Trip Advisor Bangkok’, you’ll be sorely disappointed.
The problem with Trip Advisor is it’s a website with no controls. Anyone can write any type of ‘review’ they like about anything or anywhere in Bangkok and, almost all of the time, Trip Advisor will publish it. What that means is competitors of hotels, restaurants, cafes and tourist spots are constantly on Trip Advisor submitting reviews that are nothing but lies, and only meant to damage their competitors. Or hotels that are getting positive reviews on Trip Advisor are paying people to post them.
It’s gotten so bad lately that the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has even launched a formal investigation into Trip Advisor and its dodgy reviews.
In fact, if you want authentic, reliable information about Bangkok hotels, Bangkok restaurants, Bangkok tourist attractions, Bangkok cheap flights and more, you’re best looking at sites like ours, as well as other sites in the same category — meaning owned by people who actually live in Bangkok and who give honest reviews of places they’ve visited, hotels they’ve stayed in, and restaurants they’ve eaten at.
In fact, after looking at Trip Advisor very carefully for places in Bangkok, I must say from my experience, the reviews they publish are accurate less than 50 percent of the time. For a website that popular, that’s kind of sad.
