Yingluck Shinawatra to Attend 20th ASEAN Summit in Cambodia

Yingluck Shinawatra, the Thai prime minister, has been meeting with ASEAN leaders a lot recently, as Thailand continues its move more towards closer ties with ASEAN countries and away from the west. Her next Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) meeting will be the 20th ASEAN Summit, which is to be held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on April 3rd and 4th. The meeting will also celebrate the 45th anniversary of the founding of ASEAN.

Yingluck’s focus at the meeting will be to talk about disaster management, since the Southeast Asian region has had so many lately, the pollution and haze problem in Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia and other regional countries, and ways to have ASEAN countries working closer together to stop the trade of illegal drugs in the region.

It will also be interesting to see how Yingluck dresses for the ASEAN Summit, as lately she’s been getting quite a name for herself as a new fashion icon in the region.  Her visit to Korea had her wearing a traditional hanbok, so we’re wondering if her trip to Cambodia will see her in a Sampot Châng Kben? She’d probably look lovely in it, if it did.
