After watching a video by two American women ‘teaching’ people how to make Shrimp Pad Thai, I just had to link to a video that actually does show you how to make authentic Shrimp Pad Thai (I don’t know what those two women were cooking, but it was not Pad Thai), so you can make similar Pad Thai to what you ate in Thailand when you are back in your own country.
While, of course, there are different ways to make Pad Thai with different Thai cooks making it various ways, there are also specific ingredients that go in every Pad Thai dish — watch the video below to see how a real Thai cooks authentic Pad Thai, and then the next time you’re watching a video with non-Thais telling you how to cook Pad Thai, you’ll realize they may not know what they’re talking about.
(And really, I don’t mean to be rude but Americanized-Thai food or Europeanized-Thai food really is awful when you’ve eaten the real deal).
