A spokesperson for Pheu Thai, the governing Thai political party, says former Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva should resign from his position as MP after being found guilty of draft dodging yesterday.
Prompong Nopparit said former Pheu Thai leader Yongyuth Wichaidit had resigned as an MP after he was found guilty of corruption several years ago. He, therefore, believes Abhisit should do the same.
But, it is not just all talk as far as Pheu Thai are concerned it seems.
Prompong went on to add, if Abhisit does not resign, Pheu Thai will file a case with Thailand’s Constitutional Court asking it to rule whether, with this new guilty verdict, Abhisit is still qualified to be a member of parliament.
