It’s been announced Thailand will host the 2013 annual conference of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA). Amazing that the WAN-IFRA would even consider hosting a conference in Thailand, a country where freedom of the press does not exist, and where it is worsening every year.
Typically too, the Thai government is whittering on more about “safety measures, supporting vehicles and visas” because of this conference, than it is about improving its press freedoms.
It’s just so disappointing that Thailand, truly a wonderful country, has government after government that are set in their Third World mentality.
