Durian lovers will be obsessed over the new dessert cafe After You Durian in Siam Paragon
Confessions first. I detest durian. I hate the taste, the smell and that funky aftertaste.
In Bangkok, Thailand, though, I think I am in the minority as just about everyone I know loves the stuff.
Which makes heading over to Siam Paragon a must do if you are a durian lover. Why? To try out the brand new dessert restaurant After You Durian.
After You Durian is owned by the same people as the popular After You Cafe. Which is why the new durian cafe is located on the ground flour of Siam Paragon next to it.
As for what they serve?
Well, everything durian, of course.
Durian sticky rice toast
Thick slabs of toast stuffed with bread, sticky rice and durian ice cream, and served with durian puree.
Durian Frappe
As it sounds, a delicious iced frappe, but with durian instead of coffee or chocolate.
Durian crumbstick
An ice cream shaped like a durian and, of course, on a stick.
Durian kakigori with durian cream and sauce
An enormous durian flavored Japanese shaved ice dessert.
If you hate durian, do be warned the smell of After You Durian’s desserts is slightly blocked off from the rest of the Siam Paragon restaurant area by a screen. But not by much, as I could definitely smell it when I was there last.
If you are a durian lover, however, you will love it there.
After You Durian is open every day from 10am to 10pm, Just take the BTS sky train to Siam station and you will find Siam Paragon right next to it.
