It’s the little things in Thailand that give me so much pleasure and that I think are so beautiful. Take this photograph, for instance, that I snapped in a small soi in northern Bangkok across the street from the Elephant Building or Tuk Chang as the Thais call it.
In it, you can see the Thai flag (red, blue and white stripes), the King’s flag (with the royal cypher in the middle of a sea of yellow and yellow, of course, being the King of Thailand’s birthday color) and, in the distance, rising up majestically Bangkok’s famous elephant building.
Throw in a clear blue sky, walls of cascading pink and white flowers and this tiny soi is one of the prettiest streets in Bangkok.
