The Samui Plus program kicked off in Thailand on July 15th, and covers entry to Ko Samui, Ko Pha-ngan and Ko Tao for international visitors.
Just 11 days later, and Thai News Reports is reporting today’s update for Samui Plus now shows the first two Covid-19 cases have been recorded.
According to the report, 64 international travelers had taken advantage of the Samui Plus program up until yesterday. Twelve more arrived today, for a total of 76 international travelers.
158 people have also been able to travel onto Samui once they completed their Phuket Sandbox requirements. An additional 17 people from the Sandbox arrived on Koh Samui today.
At the moment, the Samui Plus program is still operational, as is the Phuket Sandbox.
Anyone planning on visiting Thailand via either of these programs, however, is advised to keep up-to-date on the news as, with Thailand reporting record daily Covid cases over the last few days, there is a possibility either or both of the programs could be terminated.
