The hotel is within walking distance to the Forbidden City, and is another courtyard hotel located in a historic hutong area that’s inaccessible to motor traffic, so it’s very quiet.

Accommodation is either a dorm room bed or private rooms. Each private room comes with internet access, air conditioning and linens. It is a backpacker hotel, but beautifully clean, with excellent reviews on many travel websites. The hotel has a small restaurant, offers luggage and bicycle storage and the staff is lovely. They’re also known for their guided tour to the Great Wall, which many guests end up signing up for.

Reviews are glowing for Peking International Youth Hostel with every one saying the staff is wonderful and the hotel phenomenal. For budget travelers, this really is the place to stay in Beijing.
