A Stimulant by Sarnies is one of Bangkok’s coolest cafes serving superb fresh roasted coffees
If you have spent any time in Singapore, you may have visited the hip coffee roasters A Stimulant by Sarnies. One of Singapore’s most popular coffee shops, Sarnies has just opened a location in Bangkok and, let me tell you, it’s cool.
Because not only did A Stimulant by Sarnies join the current trend for using converted shipping containers stacked one on top of the other as cafes (and yes, I love this idea!), the cafe has also been decorated in an elegantly minimalistic style that is still really pleasant.
Of course, it is not the style you really go for when you decide to visit a Bangkok coffee shop, although pretty surroundings definitely help. Instead, it is usually the quality of the coffee they serve and, no worries, as Sarnies in Bangkok excels here as well.
Coffee beans at the cafe come from a variety of places around the world — Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and Brazil, just to name a few.
The coffee itself is roasted weekly, so it is always fresh, and comes in all your usual styles — flat white, mocha, espresso. There are also a variety of filtered coffees that change regularly, and a delightful house signature blend I’ve had a couple of times and really loved.
If you like the coffee you drink at Sarnies you can also buy a bag of beans and brew more of it at home. They sell whole beans if you prefer to grind your own, but will also grind it for you for espresso, filter or French press. Just let them know which one you need when grabbing some.
You will find A Stimulant by Sarnies in Bangkok at 113 Phop Mit Alley, Khwaeng Khlong Tan Nuea, Khet Watthana, Bangkok, 10110. You can call them at 02-258-8170 for directions, or just check out the Google map below.
