Are you looking for the best place to spend New Year’s Eve 2016./2017 in Bangkok, Thailand? Then you can’t go wrong with Asiatique. Not only has it become one of the most popular places for New Year’s Eve celebrations in Bangkok, it is incredibly fun too.
Located on the riverside at the Chao Praya River, Asiatique starts its New Year’s celebrations at 5pm (17:00 hrs) on the 31st of December. It is also quite an upscale, ritzy affair as Asiatique’s New Year’s Eve party is broadcast on Thai TV, so they do go all out.
Check out the amazing food at both restaurants and food stalls, the appearances by Thai celebrities, awesome live music and, of course, fireworks as 2017 hits. All the usual Asiatique shops are also open, so you can do a bit of shopping while you wait for New Year.
The easiest way to get to Asiatique is via boat. Grab that at the Saphan Taksin pier, which you can get to via the BTS sky train. The Asiatique shuttle boat is free, and is a lovely 10 minute ride down the Chao Praya to get there. Boats run until 11pm (23:00), but on New Year’s Eve they run till well after midnight, so don’t worry about going down there and then getting stuck and not being able to get back.
You will find Asiatique at Chareonkrung Soi 74-76 if you decide to go by car instead. Check map above for more details and driving directions.
