With more than 2 million people arriving in Chiang Mai via the Chiang Mai International Airport every year, it’s not surprising when some want to stay in a hotel near it. With the airport only a 10 minute drive from the city center, that’s not difficult and with so many wonderful and cheap Chiang Mai hotels, don’t be surprised if you find some of the cheapest hotel deals in your life for such a convenient location.
Eurana Boutique Hotel – Situated in Chiang Mai’s old town in a very quiet area near the Sunday Walking Market, and around a 10 minute drive from Chiang Mai International Airport, the Eurana Boutique Hotel has 72 rooms decorated in modern Lanna style.
Each guest room is bright and quite spacious and features an en suite bath with shower and tub, TV with cable, free Wi-Fi, minibar, safety deposit box, work desk and air conditioning. Room rates include a buffet breakfast.
The hotel itself has a lovely garden with a terrace, a small restaurant, a cocktail bar, laundry, dry cleaning and ironing service and a free airport shuttle bus. There’s also an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness center. If you rent a car at Chiang Mai International Airport there’s also free parking, saving you driving aimlessly around the city trying to find something.
As of May 2011, room rates for a single room begin at only $35 a night. An extremely cheap deal for such a conveniently located and, of course, comfortable hotel.

The Adventure Hotel – Just three miles from Chiang Mai International Airport, The Adventure Hotel is a boutique hotel that’s also located just a couple of minutes drive from Chiang Mai city center.
At The Adventure Hotel, you’ll find the most fascinating rooms in Chiang Mai. All individually decorated in artistic and unique themes, there’s a room with a caravan inside, a casino room, a Jurassic room, even a harem room (although I don’t think they allow you to bring back 20 women to it).
Every room has an en suite bath with hairdryer, air conditioning, TV with satellite, Wi-Fi internet, coffee making facilities and a mini bar. Room rate includes breakfast.
There’s a restaurant, a family room, laundry and dry cleaning services and an excellent tour desk if you want to book tickets for Chiang Mai attractions. The staff is friendly and the hotel comfortable and exceptionally clean.
Room rates, particularly for rooms this unique are some of the cheapest deals you’ll find close to Chiang Mai International Airport. Deluxe double room rates start at $32 a night.

Sakorn Residence – Located in Chiang Mai’s just across the Mae Ping River and a 10 minute drive from Chiang Mai International Airport, Sakorn Residence has 47 of some of the largest guest rooms you’ve ever seen.
Each guest room is spacious, bright and extremely clean, with en suite bath, tea and coffee making facilities, air conditioning, flat screen TV with satellite and hardwood or tiled floors.
The hotel has a cute coffee shop and restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool with a small wooden deck, Wi-Fi in public areas and a parking lot, if you rented a car at the airport. There’s also a gym and a kiddie pool.
Room rates for a superior twin room, which includes breakfast, are superbly cheap at only $31 a night.
